當代加拿大與台灣後現代都市電影、當代加拿大後殖民文學、網路語言與文學教學、文學理論、後現代主義
劉紀雯於1993年獲得紐約州立大學文學博士。她的研究領域居於以下論述之交會之處：後現代主義與後殖民主義；加拿大後殖民文學、後現代都會電影與台北電影。
截至目前為止，她處理的議題包含：主體與歷史建構、創傷敘述、離散主體與都會等；處理的加拿大作家Τ：Michael Ondaatje, Joy Kogawa, Dionne Brand, SKY Lee, Kerri Sakamoto, Neil Bissoondath, Austin Clarke等；加拿大導演則包括：Atom Egoyan, Patricia Rozema, Lea Pool, Denis Villeneuve, Don McKellar, Mina Shum等等。 近幾年來她研究加拿大文學、電影與台灣電影中的全球化都會，因此也探討都市的創傷、流動、漫遊、偶遇、媒介溝通等切身議題。

Yun-Pi Yuan is currently an associate professor of the department. She received her EdD in Applied Linguistics (with an emphasis on language assessment), Teachers College, Columbia University, NY, USA. She has been teaching and doing research in the areas of self-learning, reading, language assessment, composition and conversation, introduction to linguistics, sophomore English, and remedial teaching. She has devoted much of her time to administration (chairs of the department for 8 years and vice dean of the college for 5 years, till 2019). She helped the Holistic Center of the university with the curriculum reform (on foreign language learning) and established a new college MA credit program on intercultural communication, and experimenting on innovative teaching such as flipped classroom and integrating self-learning into her courses.
