[Scholarship]: Ying Qian-Li Scholarship 

I. Qualification:
1. BA students, sophomore and above.  The grade should be over 85 for the previous year and all the courses are passed.
2. Conduct grade should be over 80.

II. Quota: 1) 10 for Department of Foreign Languages, National Taiwan University; 2) 3 for English department and 3 for College of Foreign Languages, Fu Jen Catholic University.  The list of receivers will be announced separately by the Professor Ying Qian-Li Scholarship Foundation.

III. Amount: NT$15,000 each receiver.

IV.  Application materials:

2. Transcripts of Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 with ranking.
3. Other supporting materials: recommendation letters, certificates of awards, etc.
4. Applicants should first go to the "In Memory of Professor Ignatius Ying" Website (http://ying.forex.ntu.edu.tw/) to learn about Mr. Ying Qianli’s information and the testimonials of previous winners.

V. Application Deadline: Feb. 26, 2024.

VI. The list of receivers will be announced separately by the Professor Ying Qian-Li Scholarship Foundation. The receivers must record a short acceptance speech and place it on the "In Memory of Professor Ignatius Ying" Website.

Guidelines for the Establishment of Ying Qian-Li Scholarship (amended by the Board of Directors on December 7, 2015)

Prof. Ying dedicated his entire life to the field of education. He served as a professor and secretary-general at Fu Jen Catholic University in Beijing. After coming to Taiwan in 1949, he became a professor and the director of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University. When Fu Jen University resumed operations in Taiwan, he took on the roles of Chairman of the Board and Vice President. After his passing on October 8, 1969, friends, family, and alumni from both National Taiwan University and Fu Jen Catholic University, where he had steadfastly taught for over 40 years, established the "Mr. Ying Qian-Li Scholarship" on July 1, 1972, in memory of his dedication to nurturing numerous talents. The scholarship aims to continue his legacy by assisting outstanding students at both universities. The details of the scholarship are outlined in the following.

I. This scholarship is charged by NTU and Fu Jen Catholic University.

II. This scholarship may receive earmarked donations, and the "Mr. Ying Qian-Li Scholarship Fund Board of Directors" (hereinafter referred to as the "Board of Directors") may adjust the allocation of scholarships accordingly. 

III. The quota and amount for this scholarship to be set up every year will be determined by the Board of Directors based on the amount of interest generated by the fund each year and the donations earmarked for the special funds in Article 2. 

IV. The scholarship is distributed in the second semester of every school year.

V. Qualification:
1. Those BA students who have been studying in school for one year and have passed all the subjects they took in the previous year, with an overall average of 85 or above;
2. Conduct grade should be over 80. 

VI. Applicants should fill up the application form and submit the transcript to school.  Each school should recommend the scholarship winners to the broad.  After approving by the broad, the scholarship will wire to school to distribute.

VII. The scholarship winner should fill out the receipts after receiving it.  The universities should mail the receipts to the broad.

VIII. This scholarship can be applied consecutively.

IX. These regulations are formulated by the board of directors, and the same shall apply when revised.
