課程目標 本課參加美國東卡羅萊納大學主導的「跨國學術連線計畫」(Global Academic Outreach Project)，提供同學「秀才不出門，能知天下事」的學習機會。我們利用線上視訊會議功能，與美國和另一個會員國﹙例如：俄國﹚大學學生連線。課堂中同學輪流小組面談和一對一筆談，討論議題如：大學生活、家庭結構、生命意義、醫療保健、飲食健康、刻板印象及偏見等等。跨國連線之前後，本地教師會帶領同學了解他國文化和整合所學知識。除了即時溝通之外，同學還需要閱讀友國新聞以了解其近況，書寫心得報告，並提出口頭報告，討論文化溝通如何進行與改進。 與計畫目的之關連性本課程屬實務操作及展演推廣課程，提供學生與美國及其他國家（如印度、瑞典或蘇俄）連線，與他國師生討論跨文化差異及推廣臺灣文化。
課程主軸結構 本計畫擬在在訓練學生介紹、解釋台灣文化，並向他國師生透過電訊傳播科技（視訊軟體及 chatroom）推銷台灣的文化。本課程和「畢業專題製作」及「跨文化商務溝通」同為實務操作及展演推廣課程，提供同學本系列課程推廣臺灣文化的機會。

課程計畫內容

四、創意及特殊規劃

  1. 本課提供至少六週十二次跨國連線討論時段，供學生針對五個以上主題進行跨文化討論。
  2. 本課重視跨國連線口語及 chatroom 討論、合作式學習。

�� Meeting Time:

  • In this course, we will have local weeks and international connection weeks. For local weeks, we will complete 2 hours of the course on Tuesday. For international weeks, we will meet with our partner school on Tuesday and Thursday (3 hours in total). Local weeks: Class on Tuesday: 6:40pm-8:30pm International connection weeks: Class on Tuesday 8:00pm-9:20pm and Thursday 8:00pm-9:20pm

五、作業設計：1) 課堂中參與討論和問題回答，2) 跨國連線口語及 chatroom 討論，3) 口頭報告， 4) 與他國學生合作完成一篇文字報告。

九、預期成果

  1. Students will be able to explain the culture of other countries we connected with.
  2. Students will be able to introduce the Taiwanese culture to students in other countries via videoconference, FaceBook, and chatrooms
  3. Students will be able to probe into topics such as College life, Family and Cultural Traditions, The Meaning of Life and Religion, Stereotypes and prejudices, and pop culture or politics.
