Yu-Chih Doris Shih received her PhD in Educational Curriculum & Instruction (with an emphasis in Educational Technology) from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. Her teaching and research interests are in the areas of English language and cultural learning with technologies, multimedia education, distance learning, and instructional design. She has been studying the online learning style preferences of learners of different cultural backgrounds. She has also been working on several intercultural telecommunication projects and connecting English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pre-service teachers and learners in countries such as USA, Japan, India, Switzerland, Mexico, Peru, Russia, and Taiwan through ICT (e-mail, discussion boards, text chats, and interactive videoconference) for several semesters. She has published book chapters, conference papers, and journal articles in the following areas: digital learning styles preferences, intercultural communication and learning through telecommunications, program evaluations, and instructional designs for digital learning. The development of computer courseware, distance learning, and blended learning materials have been done in different content areas including the pharmaceutical and medical areas. She had the experience of serving as a member and the secretary of the English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC) in the elementary school in USA. She was in UCLA, CA, USA during 2015~2016.
