The son of Jcak Butler Yeats and Susan Pollexfen.

Brief Introduction
Yeats was born in Sandymout, Dublin. When Yeats was young, his family moved frequently from London, Sligo(Ireland) to Dublin. Inspired and influenced by George Russell, John O'Leary
and James O'Grady, Yeats started to study and to translate Gaelic-Irish language, culture, and literature.

Gaelic-Irish culture is the important source of Yeats' writing experience, which later become the literary movement (Irish Renaissance, Irish Literary Theatre, and Cultural Nationalism) in the modern Irish liteary history. The works of Yeats established his poetics of Gaelic-Irish and Anglo-Irish culture;moreover, his works of criticisms also leads his way to the canon of Anglo-Irish literature.

Maud Gonne
The muse of W.B.Yeats inspired him a series of love poems and a play
The Countess Cathleen. Gonne became the mythic figure of Cathleen in Yeats' modern celtic mythology. Cathleen later is coined  as the ideological representation of Ireland.
