Fr. Demers: IN REMEMBRANCE OF PIERRE DEMERS, SJ

Now at this very moment, birds are singing, young lambs are jumping as though they were being accompanied by the beat of a drum. It seems that only I have a feeling of sorrow. Fortunately, an expression on my part was able to give me relief from this grief and now once again i am strong. The waterfalls with their noise like trumpets rush down from the high cliff and i shall no longer offend this koyous time with my sorrow. I can hear the echoes as they pass through the mountains. The winds blow over me from the fields where they were sleeping and the earth is full of happiness. Land ands sea are re-joicing. Even the beats of the field are full of happiness and are celebrating. And you shepherd boy, child of happiness, let me hear your shouts.
