The content of the file aims to argue that Interstellar (2014) can be seen as a contemporary version of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) since it develops 2001's theme of “human transcendence” with the similar patter of plot. However, this paper also argues that Interstellar, though reaching farther beyond in time and space, is more human, because it provides human reasons for space exploration.
